Janet Maitland is heading back to the Philippines to head up a team of 25 hairdressers who will be educating under-privileged young people in the life skills of hairdressing this Spring.
Following the 2018 trip, when every student who took part in the programme was offered employment at David’s salons, the Shaping Futures is once again striving to pride a new start for the young people.
The group will spend a total of six weeks teaching the young people the essentials of hairdressing; from cutting and colouring through to styling.
Janet says: “Last years was our first Shaping Futures’ trip to the Philippines and we were blown away by the dedication each student showed to their studies and the respect they had for hairdressing as career.
“Every student who took part in the 2018 initiative was offered a training or employment contract through David’s Salons, a multi-salon business which operates across the Philippines, and we’re hoping for the same again this year.”
Joining Janet on the trip is our brilliant stylist Keely Passmore and our homegrown talent Rachelle Summerson-Wright.
